Company Readiness

What Canadian companies should be ready to show before ITB outreach.

The intake materials make one point clear: capability alone is not enough. Readiness includes leadership, structure, R&D, supply chain, certifications, and commercial credibility.

  • Competitive differentiation
  • Defensible KIC and defence-market relevance

  • Potential collaborators, universities, or research partners

What We Look For First

The best ITB candidates are easy to explain in one page.

Before a prime or obligor spends time on a company, the story should already be coherent: what the company does, why it matters, where it fits under ITB, how Canadian its value base is, and why it reduces risk instead of adding it.

That is usually the gap we help close first.

Typical readiness gaps

  • Too much technology detail and not enough procurement relevance
  • Weak KIC alignment or overly broad claims
  • No clear explanation of the Canadian economic story
  • Unclear transaction type or unclear pathway into primes
  • Missing certification and compliance planning
